Eeewww, GROSS!

I just vacuumed out what could only be described as a BURNT clump of cat fur from the fan on my graphics card. YUCK!

Hopefully though, this will stop Sims from crashing so often (four times in two days – all four times right after I set up elaborate scenes to take pictures but BEFORE I actually took the damn screen cap!!! GRRRR). It’s taking so long to finish this chapter because of this.

About to go load up the game. I’ll be sure to update if the vacuuming worked! 🙂

Ahahahah, burnt cat fur, LOL! Off to check mine now 😐

It was nasty, I tell you! Yuck!

Unfortunately, the game still crashed during the next picture-taking session, and then when I reloaded it crashed in the damn neighborhood view! I think that neighborhood (the Prologue ‘hood) is officially dead. Fortunately, I have enough pictures from that ‘hood that I don’t really need it any more. I had a few more photos I wanted to take, but if I can’t even get the ‘hood to load I don’t see how that’s going to happen. 😦 But WANT to take and NEED to take are two different things, so I guess I should just be happy that I managed to get the ones I NEEDED!

LOL! That is a sadness. I feel your furry pain. I hope you are able to salvage your game from a back-up though. My neighborhood died ages ago, irreparably. I did a little rebuilding but really, if I am going to continue my story, it will have to be image-free, which isn’t exactly a simstory so much as it is just a story.

Luckily, I was able to load and use the backup. But… not for the pictures I had wanted to take before its later incarnation exploded. I think that section of the chapter will have to be mostly text, as there’s no feasible way for me to get those pictures now. Oh, well.

I am so sorry to hear about your neighborhood dying! 😦 Why do Sims do that so freaking bad? I know one thing that contributed to the death of my ‘hood was that I did some very bad things in it before I knew that they were very bad things. But still… if the game allows you to do those things, why do those things also mean inevitable death of the game?!? And why do we continue to be tricked into thinking “next time will be better!”? Sims players are such masochists, LOL!

YES! That is precisely what happened to me! I used to delete sims out of the sim bin like it was going out of style. And the tombstones! I had plenty of dead sims and zero tombstones. Because I deleted ’em. I had no clue that these things were bad until it was far too late. Even my back-ups were corrupted. *sigh*

I am glad that you were able to recover though. Yay! MOAR Roger!! 😀 😀

Yep – I think that’s what did it! I am also guilty of deleting Sims from the Sim bin and tombstones back in the day. And in my very first two neighborhoods I ever played, I transported occupied lots back and forth. All very, very bad – but also an option in the game! It’s like they set us all up or something.

The neighborhood that went ‘plooy though is the Prologue ‘hood, and Roger’s not in that one (the “current” legacy family’s neighborhood is completely safe as I knew not to do those things when I started playing it). I have that neighborhood zipped up for now so it doesn’t even load. I am ALMOST ready to unzip it though! Yay! My backup of the Prologue ‘hood is almost definitely corrupted, but I won’t be needing it for very much longer so it almost doesn’t matter.

Sim Goddess

Welcome to my blog! My name is Robin and I have been playing The Sims 2 since it was first released (September 13 2004 - technically it came out on the 14, but I had preordered it from EB Games so I got it a day early). Before that, I had been playing original Sims game since... 2000? 2001? I'm not quite sure, but I do remember having to wait for Hot Date to be released. So yeah, I've been playing Sims for years.

This blog, Shadows and Blood, is the home of my legacy (and sometimes some real life stuff too). What is a legacy? Oh, just look at my "Site-ations" list and you'll find a link. I don't have a link to the official site because it fails and I am against it (hence putting my story here, rather than on my Simpage).

So yeah, sit back and read my story. Tell me what you think (unless you think it blows - in that case, don't let the browser hit you in the ass on the way out... jk) or just stop by and say hello. Unlike my Sims, I don't bite.
